Church, liturgical and ecclesiastical domes
We produce liturgical domes for people all faiths. Our hope is that these creations call to people, encourage them and draw them into worship and relationship with God through art. Whether traditional or contemporary in design, domes can complement and enhance the house of worship. We provide exterior domes, interior domes, and illuminated glass domes. Our goal is to listen and understand the wishes of the congregation, the architects and the liturgical designers, and to bring that vision to life. We strive to use the gifts that have been graciously loaned to us, to create works that reflect the beauty and creativity of the divine.
A baldachin, baldachino, baldaquin or baldacchino is a canopy over an altar, throne, or tomb, supported by columns, and generally crowned by a dome. It is a traditional sign of respect for a high alter. A civory or ciborium is the name for the canopy itself.
Please call us if we can be of service to you.
This Baladachin was produced for Saint Anthony Cathedral. It consists of four columns supporting a canopy or civory. Angels are sculpted in the four corners. The sculpture of Christ stands atop the dome and the inner dome is gold leafed and contains the image of a dove.
