Dome Materials:

GFRC - Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete

  • GFRC is made of inorganic materials: Cement, sand and glass. The flame spread of GFRC is 0 and it is recognized as a noncombustible by all the major regulatory agencies.
  • GFRC has proven its strength and durability over the past 30 years. The new generation of GFRC is even tougher. By incorporating Meta Kaolin, PVA fibers and polymers, we now produce a high performance GFRC that has been tested under simulated weathering to a lifespan of over 100 years.
  • Note: All GFRC is not equal. Be sure to specify Stromberg High Performance GFRC

GRG - Glass Reinforced Gypsum

  • Used for interior applications only
  • Made of mineral gypsum, glass fiber and polymers
  • With a flame spread of 0, GRG will not burn. Major regulatory agencies recognize it as a noncombustible material
  • Accepts fine detail
  • Economical

GFRP - Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer

  • 30 year proven history of performance
  • Tough, lightweight and water resistant
  • Holds up to salt water, sun, snow and ice
  • Resists mosts chemicals such as acids, solvents and salt
  • Can be pound for pound stronger than steel
  • Can be bullet resistant
  • Fire retardant - offers a class A fire rating

Translucent material

  • Transparent polymers and pigments
  • Stained or art glass effects
  • Use indoors and in certain outdoor applications
  • Wide variety of effects and illumination are possible
  • Fire retardant polymers offer class A fire rating
