Dome applications for government buildings

Texas State Capitol in Austin, TX

Reinforced domes are prominent architectural features of many government buildings. Most state capitol buildings in the United States, for example, incorporate the use of architectural domes. Cupola domes are quite common, although many also feature the classic spherical dome design as well. Many architectural domes on government buildings are quite large, creating a strong and memorable focal point for the building rather than a subtle accent. A long time symbol of unity and strength, exterior domes continue to be featured in government buildings located in the United States and elsewhere. At Stromberg, we have had the pleasure of working on some of the most well-known government buildings in the country. Stromberg architectural fiberglass pieces are featured on the following buildings:

The White House:
Stromberg has completed work on this all important symbol of American pride and unity. Domes enhance the look of this two hundred year old structure that has served as a home for every president since John Adams.
Smithsonian:
The Smithsonian, the largest museum complex in the world, is comprised of numerous buildings, several of which incorporate architectural domes.
Pentagon:
Stromberg architectural pieces can be found in this spectacular, five-sided structure that serves as the headquarters of our nation's Department of Defence.
Texas State Capitol:
Most individuals who are well-acquainted with this structure that was built in the late 1800s are also familiar with its use of architectural domes. The cupola dome on the top of the building reaches an incredible height of almost 300 feet, and the Goddess of Liberty statue makes the appearance of this exterior dome even more spectacular.
