Residential and home architectural domes

Residential Ceiling dome

While many of our architectural fiberglass domes are built for churches, government buildings, casinos, and resorts, Stromberg also custom designs interior and exterior domes for private homeowners. Whether it's a large exterior dome that will be an essential component of the building's design, or a translucent interior dome featuring geometric patterns that reflect colored rays onto the home's grand foyer, Stromberg is happy to work with homeowners. We'll take the time to develop architectural fiberglass domes that will meet and exceed all expectations. Here is a brief description of just a few of the fiberglass reinforced domes we have designed and installed for homeowners.

Onion domes:

These exterior architectural domes are often constructed of GFRS. Reminiscent of the style of architectural domes that appear frequently on Russian Orthodox churches, they are available in numerous colors, including rich and creamy white. Many of these domes are beautifully detailed; most taper to a fine point. These domes are stunning accents to any home's exterior, ones that invariably make others stop and take notice.

Ceiling domes:

Many of the interior architectural domes we construct for private residences are ceiling domes. Due to their light weight, Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum and Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer are the materials most frequently used for interior domes. The shape, size, and appearance of these domes are limited only by the homeowner's imagination. Some of our clients opt for simple oval shapes and neutral colors. These domes subtly complement their surroundings. Other homeowners request that their architectural domes be highly figured, detailed, or accented with GFRG molding. These finishing touches draw attention to domes, making them a stunning focal point of the room.

Finally, simulated stained glass ceiling domes ensure that anybody who enters the room will notice the domes and the exquisite patterns of reflected light they create before anything else. Krystaclear is a versatile material used by Stromberg that can be manipulated to create domes that feature geometric patterns, classic images, or custom designs, and these domes can be enhanced even further through the use of accent molding at their base.
